SOLUTION
The waterproofing solution for Baradene’s hockey pitch was carefully planned, with Neuchâtel Mastic Asphalt, our durable and resilient product, chosen for its proven track record in numerous New Zealand roofs, podiums, decks, and carparks. The installation proceeded at an impressive rate of 200m2 per day, swiftly culminating in completion within a tight timeframe. Following this, the surface was attentively leveled using a hot mix tar, paving the way for the seamless bonding of the hockey surface to the asphalt wear layer.
Baradene College Hockey Pitch
This project encompassed an expansive hockey field and sports facility situated above a carpark, office, and changing rooms. The client and architect sought a product capable of being laid to low falls, almost flat, to facilitate the application of the wearing layer and hockey sports surface without requiring a pronounced slope. Given Jasmax’s familiarity with the Neuchâtel product and its successful utilization in various podium and carpark projects over the years, we were enlisted to engage in discussions regarding product selection and specification for this project.

Extremely strong, durable and can be easily formed/molded to complex shapes the premium Podium system is perfect for modern construction. In its malleable state, when hot, it allows a full range of surface finishes from the mastic asphalt wearing layer, which can be stamped with patterns, coloured or just smooth flat providing a stable base for overlaying various surface finishes from the pavers on pedestals systems to simple decorative pebbled surfaces.
