I recently made contact with the owner of an old Neuchatel vintage steam-roller, and he sent me these pictures. The steamroller was originally purchased by Neucahtel Asphalte in Melbourne in 1927. In 1930 it was shipped to Christchurch where it was utilised through to the 50′s.

It’s been steamable all it’s life, despite sitting derelict for ten years in Greymouth before being purchased for restoration, and even then it was steamed up ready for transporting away in 1965. It has been in the Feilding area since.
